About: Gao Hang is a contemporary neo-pop artist recognized for his paintings that delve into themes of personal identity, digital culture, and globalization. His work—often depicting figures that resemble low-poly, 3D video game characters—is notable for its vibrant use of fluorescent color. Born in the Chinese city of Baoding, Hang relocated to Houston, Texas, in 2015 to obtain an MFA in painting from the University of Houston. Hang’s works have been exhibited in the United States and China, and are part of various collections, including the CICA Museum of Art in Korea and the Art Museum of Capital Normal University in Beijing.
