Larissa De Jesús Negrón, born in 1994 in Puerto Rico, is a versatile artist who channels the power of storytelling to process her life experiences. Grounded in deep introspection and self-discovery, her work reflects a commitment to finding presence through artmaking. Larissa embraces change, experimenting with materials and diverse conceptual approaches. This therapeutic process establishes a spiritual connection with her work, allowing exploration of existential issues that occupy her thoughts. Drawing inspiration from the subconscious mind, Larissa employs automatism without prior sketching, revealing profound moments from her upbringing in Puerto Rico.
Her art tells intimate stories, often drawing from personal memories that require vulnerability. These narratives serve as a cathartic means to connect with others, capturing both mundane and impactful moments. Larissa's daily practice involves freeing herself from her critical mind, approaching life with gentleness, and living with intention. Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Larissa's artistic journey began at a young age, leading to her studies at specialized art schools and eventually earning a BFA degree with high honors from Hunter College in NYC. As an independent artist, Larissa is not currently represented by any gallery in the US, Asia, or Europe.
