“BLIMY” is the second tondo print by iconic artist Kenny Scharf with JRP|Editions, this edition has been produced to accompany their publication ‘’MOODZ’’ by the American artist.
The round form makes the screenprint look like a bubble hung on the wall. It also reminds the shape of an emoji to highlight emotions and express a special happy mood.
Kenny Scharf created his first tondo paintings in the 1980s.
He started to paint this new series of tondo in 2019 for his landmark immersive Universalis exhibition at La Nave Salinas, Ibiza.
In 2020, he painted ‘’BLIMY’’ for his massive exhibition titled ‘’MOODZ’’ at Jeffrey Deitch in Los Angeles.
“Round is definitely a great shape. I have always worked and played with this format.” — Kenny Scharf
